Textile enterprises that produce tents are concentrated in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hubei, Tianjin, Beijing, Henan, Shaanxi and other provinces and cities. The production of tents this time is tight and the quantity is huge, which is unprecedented in the history of my country's disaster relief. All tent production enterprises responsible for the production of tents worked at full capacity, worked overtime, and raced against time, giving up all holidays, and completed the production tasks on time, with guaranteed quality and quantity, composing a triumphant song of unity and solidarity in the textile industry. Small but indispensable industry
The most important part of a tent is its fabric, which belongs to the category of tarpaulin. China is a major producer of tents, mainly for export. According to statistics from relevant departments, my country produced a total of 1.083 million tons of tarpaulin in 2007, an increase of 27.11% year-on-year. Among them, the output of car tarpaulins and tent fabrics was 342,000 tons. Tents can be divided into tourist tents, disaster relief tents, advertising tents, car tents, military tents, etc. according to their uses. Tent fabrics are mostly polyester taffeta, nylon rainproof cloth, PVC waterproof Oxford cloth and membrane materials. Generally, polyester industrial yarn or polyester staple fiber is used as raw material. After being woven into fabrics, they are post-finished according to different requirements. For example, PVC or polyurethane coating, silicone impregnation finishing, and awnings require anti-ultraviolet finishing. Generally, it is a double-layer design, with the inner layer and coating materials compounded, and PU strips are added. The tents produced now generally have good functions of stretch resistance, rain resistance and UV resistance.
Xu Pu, honorary chairman of the China Industrial Industry Association, introduced the history of tent production and development in my country to reporters. He said that from the 1960s to the 1970s, there were 8 factories in the country that produced train tarpaulins. The material of the tarpaulin at that time was mainly vinylon, weighing 800 grams to 900 grams per square meter.
